In this post, we dive into the top easy ways to save money and crush your money saving goals for the New Year:

Hey, it’s Woke Money Hero and I’m especially familiar with the random, sporadic bouts of anxiety that money can cause throughout the month.

And like you, most of the stuff I tried never worked well for me.

But it wasn’t until I tried the following 3 hacks and turned them into habits … that I started seeing vast improvements with saving money.

You ready for them? Here we go.

Remedy #1 – The Brain Trick

During the month, if you’ve ever noticed, when you’re able to get more money in your bank account, you tend to spend it?

That’s because when there’s money, your natural response is that you deserve to spend it.

You can actually “trick” your brain into thinking that there isn’t any money to spend by treating any extra money as a bill and paying it to an account of yours that you can’t easily access.

Out of sight, out of mind. When I started out saving, having a bank account that was physically 20 miles away helped me visualize the fact that I wasn’t “allowed” to touch the money in there.

Remedy #2 – Partner Up

Did you know you can host unlimited sites under one Bluehost plan?

For things that hold no less value to you by splitting them up, consider going in with a friend or family member to save money.

One great example is a phone bill: some people are on a plan all by themselves. Please consider adding someone else and then splitting the bill between you.

If your bill is 100 dollars but it would cost only 20 bucks to add someone else like your sister, you both save. Total bill then comes to 120 dollars but split in two, it’s only 60, saving you 40 dollars!

Remedy #3 – Think in terms of a year

And you know that new phone you got last year? They probably let you pay for it on a monthly basis. That’s cool. Except when you do the math…

30 dollars a month for 2 years is 720 dollars! Would you shell out all that money right now if you had to? If the answer is no, you may want to reconsider upgrading every 2 years.

Start looking at things in terms of what you’re spending on a yearly basis instead of just on a monthly basis to see the real cost.

There you have it…

Work those into your daily routine and you should start noticing a significant money savings over time.
